Johannes Vaillant

Jehan Vaillant (sometimes spelled Johannes Vayllant) (fl. 1360-90) was a French music composer and theorist. He is named immediately aftert Guillaume de Machaut by the Règles de la seconde rhétorique, which describes him as a "master
who had a school of music in Paris". Besides five (possibly six) pieces of music surviving to his name he was also the author of a treatise on tuning.

Česlav Vaňura (1667-1736) wirkte als Organist an der Kirche St. Jakob in Prag. Schon zu seinen Lebzeiten zeigte sich die Wertschätzung seiner Musik daran, dass bereits zwei große Sammlungen mit Kirchenmusik im Druck veröffentlicht wurden allerdings nur in Einzelstimmen, so dass die vorliegende Partitur das Prädikat Partitur-Erstdruck für sich beanspruchen darf.

Giacomo Veginy is almost unknown. The cover page of his six duos opus 1 indicated only that he is originally from Bergamo in northern Italy and that he at the time of publication of his first work lived in the Marais district in Paris.

Johannes von Vincenet muss zur Generation Dufays gehört haben. Die Listen der päpstlichen Kapelle nennen 1426 und 1427 einen "Joh. Vicenot" und 1428 einene "Johanni Vincenot".
