John Wolf Brennan decided to dedicate a complete project to the quest for Celtic traces and to seek out the common roots. This idea continued to haunt him for half a lifetime. After the first collection of SONIC ROOTS for piano (PAN 2000), the two volumes for violin (PAN 2003, 2007) and clarinet (PAN 2001) this book is dedicated to 1-2 alto saxophones. Brennans teaching experience was an important guideline in choosing these pieces. They have a clear-cut educational purpose, but nevertheless thrive without the help of a dour index finger.
