Sieben rumänische Tänze for flute, clarinet and mandolin orchestra
The arrangement of this fascinating music from Romania for plucked string orchestra with flute and clarinet was almost a given.
Description
Ed. by Theo Hüsgen
For the present edition Theo Hüsgen has selected six piano dances from the Romanian Folk Dances (1915) of Bartók. The dances come from four different areas of Transylvania. Bartók himself arranged his Romanian Folk Dances for several instrumentations: for small orchestra in 1917, later on, among others, also for string orchestra or violin and piano. It was therefore an inspiration to work on this fascinating music for mandolin orchestra with flute and clarinet. The combination of solo instrument – singly and also used as a duo – and differently strong orchestra takes into account the respective character of the dances. Only the dance No. 4 Buciumeana is completely attributed to the Zupforchester.
