Many Organ Trios of the Baroque and Classical style are fugues, not too difficult to play in transcription. One such work is the G minor Trio by Friedrich Christian Samuel Mohrheim (1718–1780).
This pleasant piece can be played by two violins and a violoncello, but an orchestral interpretation is livelier and more colourful, especially if the ad lib. instruments (flute or tenor recorder, viola and bassoon) are added.
