On the basis of many of the folk songs he had collected, Béla Bartók composed a series of Violin duos that provided for a successive introduction to playing techniques and ways of contrapuntal music making. Quite apart from all pedagogic objectives the duets are simply beautiful music. Easy to moderately difficult.
