Werner Misteli

Werner Misteli was born in Zurich in 1954. He studies musical theory at the Zurich Conservatory of Music where he obtained the teaching diploma. Werner Misteli is a member of the Swiss Society of Musical Pedagogy where he also teaches professional classes. He also has been headmaster of the Schaffhausen Conservatory of Music for several years. He is doing a lot of theoretical and scientific researches and as a compensation to this activities he es playing the violin.
Werner Misteli studied composition with Robert Blum and has been influenced by him in his style to combine traditional scales with new effects. He respects the natural limits given as a result of the physical conditions of the instruments and he regards the demands of the musicians as an inspiring challenge.
