Martin Bärenz

Martin Bärenz received cello lessons from the age of 8. Already as a student he wrote first compositions and adaptations. In 1982 he received his first composition mandate from the Städtische Bühnen Heidelberg. Martin Bärenz studied violoncello with Prof. v. Bülow and Prof. Grosgurin in Mannheim. He attended master classes with Anner Bylsma with a focus on “Historical Performance Practice”.
He is a studio and tour editor and arranger in the Chanson and Jazz area (Hannes Wader, Joana, Christof Stählin, Martin Müller and others). Concert tours in various formations took him across Europe, the USA, Japan, Taiwan, the PRC and the Middle East.
Martin Bärenz is a violincello teacher at the music schools of Heidelberg and Mannheim as well as at the Pädagogische Hochschule Heidelberg. He is a coordinated solocellist in the Heilbronn Symphony Orchestra
