Jean-Pierre Yraéta

Jean-Pierre Yraéta received his first instruction on the mandolin by his mother at the age of 6 years. As a member of Orchestervereinigung Chalon-Estudiantina in Chalon-sur-Saône, he learned next to the mandolin playing the guitar. From 1978 to 2009 he taught courses for this union. For teaching he began to compose. Arrangements for the orchestra followed. Some of his compositions for orchestra were admitted to competitions of the Confédération Musicale de France.
In order to improve his skills as a composer, he enrolled as a student at the Conservatory of Chalon-sur-Saône for music theory and studied conducting. He participated in courses renowned professors like Marga Wilden-Hüsgen and learned the playing techniques of the 18th century, which were not known at that time in France.
Since 1990 directs Yraéta the media library of the Conservatory Chalon-sur-Saône and teaches there since 2010, the professional mandolin.
